Monty Python legend John Cleese is to offer his services as a speechwriter to Barack Obama if he wins the Democratic nomination to become US president, he told a British newspaper today.

I dont think Obama should do anything different to his speeches than he does now. They are some of the best we've heard in ages.

And now, for something completely, yet not entirely, different.
A letter NOT by John Cleese...
Proof positive that if it was, indeed, by Mr. Cleese, he surely could give Obama some more "juice". Not that he needs any, mind you. We, of the Silly Party, see great benefit in letting some cranky old Brit with too much time on his hands lash out at US Society and welcome him with open legs...ARMS!
Sorry.
*fart*
Oh dear. -
I'd much rather see him as Bush's speechwriter...

I would not underestimate his abilities in this area. For quite a while after his Python days, Mr. Cleese made a nice chunk of change as a principle in a company that made training and instructional videos for major corporations.
I saw one once. While it certainly had humorous elements it was ver professionally done. -
First speech " We are no longer the Knights of the United States of America we are the Knights of the United States of Ni!!!
-
Maybe he should write for McCain instead. Then, his speeches really would be funny.
-
That would make my life.

John Cleese already has the perfect opening for George W. Bush's speech about global warming. The environment as we like it is not dying, no...like the parrot, it's "just restin'."

See John Cleese in action in this old school Compaq ad.
He's a funny guy, but not sure if I'd want him writing speeches for my country's leader.
