New insights into the construction and timeline of Stonehenge.

Check out Prof. Geoff Wainwright talking about why the dig is underway and what they have already discovered.

Has anyone looked into the magnetic properties of the original Bluestones or Dolerite rocks...and maybe linked the whole design to a model of a twentieth century body scanner...there seems to be a cosmic connection here..?

mcwally - interesting question, I'm going to see what I can research. I lived in Wiltshire county in a small village as a child and Stonehenge has always facinated me. Have you read the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon?

Fascinating! The healing properties of bits of Mother Earth really need to be examined more closely. I just hope the pharmaceutical companies don't get wind of it. Can you patent a stone? They'll find a way.
-
It would explain it's location at the intersection of Ley lines that it used the stones to focus the energy for healing
-
There is another really interesting book about Stonehenge and it contains information about Lei Lines. Some paranormal investigators believe that Stonehenge is a place of line intersections.
The book is called The Ogden Enigma and I remember reading it when I was teen. -
chique if you know about ley lines then the energy from them can be registered through your hands as tiny almost fizzy electrical feelings..usually they are about 1 metre above ground level..which opens up moer questions like..how do animals react with ley lines? Some are above the level others are below..its a fascinating subject...also the rocks or stones being magnetic would mean they could be manipulated easily...along ley lines..perhaps..

They need to get Grandpa Larry on board. In exploring how Stonehenge was built, the guy managed to move 11-ton blocks of concrete and an entire barn using an ingenious self-constructed system of pulleys and levers.
-
suuure just move all the blue stones underground around.. see if the cosmic universe cares.
-
Idealist - I love that comment :-D
-
Isn't that just the same as if you move the components around on a circuit board? Would a computer care?
Maybe not but it certainly would effect how it functions. The same principles apply to magnetism as electricity. -
Jubal - thanks for the link! Interesting stuff this.

This is incredible. I hope they find something fascinating during their dig. I am quite curious as to what the Stonehenge was still built for.

chique, thanks for checking it out
When we had a well dug on my father's property in the country we had a guy with a dousing rod come and tell us where the best spot would be for the well. Then that was later confirmed by a geologist that did a core drill to determine the suitability of the site. It was perfect for our water source with protected limestone below and above the water source.
Although I didn't understand the dousing method, I new it worked because it was scientifically confirmed. -
I thought Stonehenge was built as an astronomical clock to tell the changing of the seasons.

another link that is worth looking at...Edward Leedskalnin..and the Coral Castle..unfortunately he died before being able to take his work further..

So many mysteries from ancient civilizations! There is a small renovated castle in Scotland called Leslie Castle that I stayed at once, which was renovated by a family member, Baron Leslie, who became an architect and married a lady named Leslie! Anyway, very near there is a hill with ruins of a fort or castle where the stones have been fused together by intense heat. Apparently called vitrified sites, and there are evidently several that have been discovered here and there. The Leslies' told us that in modern times many scientists and others had tried to recreate this fusion of rocks and cannot replicate it.
