An online contest to choose a new singalong song at Mets home games attracted thousands of pranksters who flooded the team's Web site to vote for a Rick Astley tune.
The glory that will go with the last ever opening day at Shea Stadium went with a blast... or ∫"Never gonna give you up... never gonna let you down..."∫

Give the Mets credit for playing it, too, although the public address announcer essentially explained how they got punked. He told the 56,000 people here they were "Rick-rolled."
As the song played, Mets fans booed.

I feel like George Bush's whole presidency has been a rick roll.

Yes, Ben, I happen to know that Bush's farewell address is actually going to be an a Capella rendition of this song. The lengths some people will go to for a joke, eh?

This is great! Seeing how the Mets finally beat the Phillies, they should play this at EVERY home game the rest of the season. Baseball players are so superstitious, you can see it happening. Oh the humanity!

the mass media may have reported that the SF Olympic Torch relay was rerouted due to fears of violence and mass protest, but this exclusive video footage proves that it was in fact an attempted rickrolling that forced the torchbearers into hiding...
