What courage and clarity and sincerity.
I believe the Iraq Veterans Against the War, Military Families Speak Out, Gold Star Families for Peace, Veterans for Peace, Vietnam Veterans Against the War, West Point Graduates Against the War and members of similar organizations will ultimately end this despicable war. Far too many Americans simply ignore the war. Others see the cost in lives -- now well over 4000 -- as "low" and "acceptable." Those of us who have loved ones serving, NOT fighting to defend our democracy but sent to war by criminals who care only about profits and power, must continue to speak out, to tell the truth, to bring public awareness to the disgraceful abuses of our soldiers and our returning veterans. Our military is being decimated by politicians with agendas that do not include the words "honor" or "constitutional rights" or "defending freedom." Shame on them. And shame on us if we do not stand up to defend our soldiers, our military, our democracy.-
