Un-poachable no more, Taos lifts the snowboard ban, ending 53 years of
skier-only access.

That leaves Deer Valley, Alta and Mad River Glen as the remaining
three resorts to remain closed to the sport.

But can a Ski Valley face the future without turning its back on tradition?

With 30% of lift sales in the US
coming from snowboarders, and more and more families vacationing with
mini boarders AND skiers, change means survival. And the Blakes are
determined to keep their mountain a grassroots, family-run ski hill,
even if that means letting the other team take a turn or two .

What epic terrain awaits boarders who embrace the invitation? What does
this mean for the industry? And what does this mean for a grown-up generation of riders who have long rid themselves of the "dirtbag" reputation so often bestowed upon them by skiers.

Oh hell, it's one recreational sport against another; why can't we
all just get along?
