China says 35 arrested in Olympics bomb plot

Allegedly China foiled a bomb plot which was intended to disrupt the Olympics. This is the third alleged bomb plot China made public. This group was Muslim and China used the phrase "war on terror" to describe the arrest.
"China continues to use the 'war on terrorism' to justify policies to eradicate the 'three evil forces' -- terrorism, separatism and religious extremism -- allegedly prevalent among Uighurs," Human Rights Watch recently stated.
"Uighurs who express 'separatist' tendencies are routinely sentenced to quick, secret and summary trials, sometimes accompanied by mass sentencing rallies. The death penalty is common," the group said.

There were also a series of arrests of people who were said to be planning kidnappings of Olympic athletes. Yikes!

Hmmm, using unsubstantiated and unverifiable reports of terrorism to instill fear to justify draconian police tactics and abuses of human rights? What sort of civilized country would do that? *nudge nudge wink wink*
At least Bush can now say he's done something to improve the U.S trade imbalance with China - he's exported the "War on Terror."
