Could this be for real? Artie Lange has been a fixture on the Stern show since coming on x years ago. The man is a comical genius but his erratic behavior has gotten him into trouble throughout his tenure on the show. A "recovering" drug and alcohol abuser many fans including myself believe that the Howard Stern Show actually helped Artie stay out of trouble. Either way things didn't sound to good today and I actually believe that this could be the end of Artie Lange, both on the show and off it.
Artie, if you're out there, "Come back to us! We love you man!"
From the link (after Artie had a dispute with an assistant):
Stern then expressed his feelings on the situation, saying he cannot condone Lange's actions. The comedian, who has had a similar outburst on the air in the past, said he cannot guarantee he can refrain from acting out in the future. Upon hearing that, Stern said he cannot have Lange around with the potential of such actions looming.
Artie then offered his resignation; Stern accepted, but told Lange to leave and cool off. Just before Lange left he told Stern: "I'm not a good person ... I gotta leave ... I love you"
Teddy returned to the studio several minutes later and said there was overreacting from everyone, but did not downplay the seriousness of the situation.
Show producer Gary Dell'Abate came in to analyze the situation, but he and Stern admitted they "did not know what to make of it all."
Stern does not host a live show on Fridays and the crew is on vacation next week.

this is news to me! thanks for keeping it current Aroc.
Let us know what happens. -
First off, Artie is being a little bitch as of late. He is not leaving the show. He'll cool off and then realize that he needs the Stern Show more than it needs him. Look at Jackie the Joke Man's career after he left the show... pathetic. Artie has a weight problem and a substance abuse problem, plus he missed work on Monday so there is something going on, both on the surface and deeper. Well see how this plays out, but this Stern fan will bet he'll be back on the show after the vacation, no hard feelings.

Towards the end of the argument, Artie said that Teddy was stealing from him. Is the possibly in reference to the show Artie did at the Cultural Trusts of West Palm Beaches that they have discussed on air within the last week or so? It had become a topic on the show that Artie had not yet been paid.

Artie's gotta do what Artie's gotta do.
Sadly, I saw this coming for months now. Such a shame too. Yesterday was his funniest show in months.
It's like A.J. Benza all over again.
I just wish I didn't decide to sleep through the fight when I was stirring in my sleep this morning since Howard 100 has decided not to replay the show.-

nicely done, Bromley. I'm more shocked that Howard 100 isn't replaying it. That's pretty disappointing, actually.
Artie's departure was a matter of 'when' and not 'if'. The writing's been on the wall - hopefully he'll remember The Ghost of Martling and come to his senses.
If he does go, I hope they find a way to replace him permanently with George Takei! -
What do you want to bet that when they do come back on the air, Riley Martin is gunning for the position, or a new contract since they don't have to pay Artie anymore?

How sweet would it be if they replaced him with the Jackie Puppet?!? Oh the delicious irony!
-
Or he was replaced by actual cupcakes. Delicious irony indeed.
