  • So, you realize you AREN'T safe and that security is just a joke.....but you don't want anyone to have the choice to actually BE safe.

    Just the Bush gov and the police are armed? You're a perfect little sheep!

    My body, my choice. My choice is that I want the option to PROTECT my body.

    You DO realize that concealed carry license holders have a MUCH higher safety record that the police...right?

  • Everyone feels safe until something happens. I bet everyone at VT or NIU felt safe until they got shot at.

    It's great that you wish nobody had guns, but that's an idealist statement. The rest of us live in reality, where personal safety is always an issue. It's your responsibility to take care of your own safety.

  • When everyone is forcibly disarmed then we are right back where we started: Big, young, or violent people assault younger, older, weaker, more reasonable people.

    Unless they think they might be armed of course, then they have to think.

    It's a human right to be able to defend your person.

  • "I feel safe because nothing really happened yet" - feeling safe & being safe are not the same thing. To each their own, but like blackfork mentioned - my body my choice - each person should be able to choose how or if they want to have a better option than 911. When seconds count, the Police are only minutes away . . .

    I not only feel safe, but I am safe. Why? Not because I have a cell phone, but as the "instant responder" I have real options to defend myself & my family if danger ever presents itself.

    Years ago I first realized this when someone broke into my Brother in law's home while my family was there visiting. While my brother in law & I walked around the home with baseball bats while waiting for Police to arrive I thought to myself that bringing a baseball bat to a gun fight would not give us very good odds. Now If the worst happens I am prepared to defend my family, wherever we may be.
