As an entertainer for many years, JUANITA has appeared in several music showcases, fashion shows, magazines, and was a finalist in the Miss Black World New York State Modeling and Beauty Pageant.
Presently, she is a motivational speaker and mental health advocate. JUANITA is member of the African American Advisory Council for the National Alliance on Mental Illness of New Jersey (NAMI) and a facilitator for NAMI New Jersey’s
AACT-NOW! monthly support group. With a new feature in NAMI New Jersey’s new DVD, “Documenting Our Presence,” she is speaking about advocacy, education, and support.
The DVD, "Documenting Our Presence: Multicultural Experiences of Mental Illness", which was produced in 2007 as a NAMI NJ Multicultural Outreach Initiative, is a compassionate, hopeful look at the experiences of people of diverse backgrounds, affected by serious mental illness. View trailer at:
