Lois Weber told police one of her tennis shoes became stuck under the gas pedal on her 2004 Cadillac, causing her to lose control and back into the restaurant Wednesday. She said she recently changed shoe brands and was not used to the wider fit.
No tickets were issued. Weber, who has a valid driver's license, was able to drive her car home.
Police said the car crashed into a wall and window of the restaurant in the Broad Ripple neighborhood on the north side of the city. The car pushed John Atkinson, 80, and his wife Beverly, 75, both of Indianapolis, who were playing bingo.
The couple suffered cuts on their hands from broken glass.

How about bumper cars, the world would be much more fun if we all had bumper cars (carnival style) haaa aahh haaa, weeee.
Yes I think people should have to retake their driving tests when they reach a certain age. people get hurt & killed from wrecks. I have seen alot of wacky, "where am I" kind of driving by very old people. but I also see alot of wreckless driving by teenagers chasing each other on the streets & freeways. In one word, "BUMPERCARS" - 4 years ago

a few years back when I was at the DMV getting my license renewed I was in line behind a man in his 90s who failed the vision test. He pleaded with the girl at the desk, who couldn't have been much older than 20... something like "I've been driving since 1932. I need to be able to use my car." It was sad.
My point? I guess none, except maybe our government should start a program to allow our seniors to continue to contribute to society by providing them special cars they can crash into McDonalds...

old people are always getting into car accidents. It's dangerous for pedestrians and other drivers. Senior citizens should be made to retake a driving test every 5 years, in my opinion.
