Climate change fears unfounded claims Clarkson

Image...
A newspaper article from British TV personality and motoring journalist, Jeremy Clarkson.

Seizing on the recent figures that show the average global temperature has gone down slightly over the last few years Mr Clarkson draws in many strands to his argument, including hints towards Nazism.

Mr Clarkson is a fierce public sceptic of climate change and an influential figure in the UK with a popular motoring programme airing on the BBC.

"...everything we’ve been told for the past five years by the Government, Al Gore, Channel Four News and hippies everywhere is a big bucket of nonsense".

Oh please. Do people take this guy seriously?

  •

apparently they do if he's a popular TV personality.
But this makes sense, he's a motoring enthusiast.
    Cognitive dissonance, anyone?

First thing, just for those not living in the UK 'The Sun' (which this article links to) is Murdock's paper for the 'not so deep thinking' end of our society - those that like to be told in clear terms 'what is what' and in very short simple sentences. What annoys me about this is that the very people reading it, due to their lack of deep thinking into the subject may now go off spouting it as fact. All doubt sown up in their minds - they can continue trashing the environment guilt free from now on.

As for Jeremy Clarkson - well he clearly has a lot of vested interests in taking the side of the climate doubters with his motorshows and behaviour. As he puts it "I do have a disregard for the environment," he has said. "I think the world can look after itself and we should enjoy it as best we can.".

This coming from the guy who claimed that that identity theft was nothing more than "a storm in a teacup".

In trying to arrogantly prove his point he published his bank details to demonstrate that a fraudster could not con any money from his account.

He was left with egg on his face when someone managed to set up a standing order to a charity in his name for £500 a month.

Well then, he's part of the problem, isn't he?

He makes cheeky comments of this sort all the time on top Gear. He cares about performance, and supercars. The show is AMAZING, but it very much represents the status quo for motor enthusiasts, they take performance over eficiency any day. I admit to being a big fan. He however is as highly regarded for his comedy, and penchant for buying big agresively powerful machines (which often blow up) where as his two co presenters often choose more practical vehicles. That being said, I'd probably disbelive climate change if I owned a Bugatti Veyron.....its 1,0001 horsepower! .

Because his career depends on it.

Well, he is a well respected climatic scientist, isn't he?

So, global cooling isn't really a problem, then? Guess we'll all just need some sweaters. A lot of sweaters.

This isn't news! Jezza has always said ridiculous things about the environment.

And for Pete's sake, he's an entertainer, he makes his living saying things that are entertaining, not things that are true.

All the hot air he thinks that is missing from the atmosphere is in his lies.

  •

I wonder what his opinion would be on the theory that the world will explode 12/21/12. LOL. it would be interesting to hear his views on that.

I do like watching TopGear also but to for sake of undiluted sanity, rational people shouldn't embrace what journalists like Jeremy Clackson says. This is a man that finds it comical to often refer to his co host as a "hamster".
The show and his style of journalism is more of the entertainment and slightly informative rather than ideological genre.
So please forum, tread carefully allow us our TopGear.
