The death of Dennis Lewis was shocking enough: the National Honor Society student and marching band member was shot in his bedroom while masked robbers held a gun on his mother in another room.

Then police arrested his identical twin, an advanced placement student also active in their high school band. Authorities are accusing Derris Lewis of taking part in the attack and being an accomplice in his brother's death, saying his bloody palm print was found in the bedroom where Dennis was killed.

  • Maybe the murderer just assumed he was committing suicide?

  • is a bloody palm print enough to convict someone?

  • It's definitely not sufficient grounds to convict him of the murder - I'm not even sure they can prove he was in the room because his mother said it was his identical twin's blood on top of his hand print.

I feel terrible for the mother. She's very ill as it is, she's already lost one child, and now she may lose another.

  • I'm racking my brain for a reason why anyone would want to kill thier own brother.
  • i don't think that the bloody hand print is enough evidence, but that's just me

  • The story doesn't add up. The boys did everything together, it's not as if one was trying to separate from the other one because if he did, then he would just participate in other activities. It doesn't sound like they were rivals or anything either.

  • He basically killed himself, he'll never be the same, aside from the fact that the effects of murder on the human psyche are irreversible, His twin is gone, that alone will torment him for the rest of his life, twins are psychically connected, this is a dreadful severance of two lives that weren't meant to be severed ...

  • This story is so sad! I knew some a boy who was shot and left his identical twin behind. I still to this day cannot think about the one boy who will forever see his dead brother in his own reflection. I can't help but think if this boy was involved in his twins murder that he will be a suicide soon. Anyone who can kills his mirror image will either never look in a mirror again, or end up killing himself due to the guilt.

  • I just can't believe something like this stands.

    This is just horrible.

I think that we should spend less time trying to punish murderers, and more time trying to prevent them from ever happening.

I don't know how, but it needs to happen that way.

  • They are not telling us everything. For one the other twin could have fell on top of his brother or he could have found him in that position. We need more information in order to come up with a conclusion.

Thats how the media and law enforcement work. I suspose they want someone to fill in the gaps in their story and if it matches, then you had to have been there.

  • it sounds like the police are just trying to convict someone.
