Can Americans stop Bush/Cheney from attacking Iran? The answer is yes!

Step one to re-instituting the draft will be the elimination of "don't ask, don't tell." Otherwise the simple statement, "I'm gay", becomes the ultimate get out of the draft free card.

We can't lose sight of the fact that even if we can stop a war in Iran, that doesn't mean we have stopped crooked politics. If the powers that be fail to start a war in Iran, they will surely be starting a war elsewhere, and we need to be vigilant of that.

First amendment to the constitution guarantees our right to peacefully assemble and petition the government for a redress of grievances. I agree that we all need to be united to speak as one LOUD AND CLEAR VOICE.

How do we demonstrate our solidarity? A march on the capital? A petition? This is the big conundrum on how to create a voice that will be heard by those running rough shod over the rest of us. Where do we get them where it really hurts them? Are we willing to get hurt in the process?

These are very serious things to consider, because the police state has set the stage for brutal enforcement of there new law; suppression of free expression and free will.

I can tell you the fastest way to elicit change is to vote. It has been said that true change will only come about if all the people in America vote. The saddest fact about the war is that all the people that complain about it, could have prevented it if they only had spoken their mind and voted!

With a slowing economy hopefully having less money in the common folks pocket will begin to make more people pay attention to whats going on. We've all seen outrageous prosperity in our lifetime. I'm only 22 and all I know are good times. I can't imagine famine or poverty. Once the giant party is over people will realize something hopefully. With so many fat and happy who cares about how much more or less someone has. The downhill slope is much more treacherous to everyone common and rich. Its a war between the haves and have nots. Good point, but what do you suggest? Come together how? Where? When? An idea or notion isn’t enough, real action is what needs to happen... but who will actually organize and who would miss work, come out of our everyday lives and attend?

I don’t think the "anti-bush" peeps are saying that Iran is a weak and defenseless country; I think the American people are angry at their government for potentially planning to attack another country with financial gain as the primary reason. As for war, many lives would be lost from both sides, America is a superpower and their current government is a global threat to any country that it feels it can exploit and get anyway with it through media control and false justification. The point is something needs to happen. Best not to wait and see what happens, there is/has to be a solution that doesn’t involve millions of lives being lost

A war with Iran is very unlikely mainly because it’s just not feasible on so many levels; also the draft will never come back unless we were invaded. Another thing to note was that the Iraq War was sold to us and the reason why Congress is frozen in its actions is because those god damn reds a.k.a. the Republicans still hold power. Once Bush leaves and Obama comes to office god willing then this should all change for the better but it will take a while. As a closing thought let me say this the sixties weren't that much different in terms of it being a time of unknowns and political chaos. Think about it. I do agree though that would be a good idea to get the message across.

Ahmadinejad doesn't lead Iran, he is at best a figurehead. Iranians are not being taught from gradeschool up that America is evil and to be destroyed. Have you ever been to Iran? I have. They are a great people, highly civilized and cultured. You have, at best, been reading intentional mistranslations of Ahmadinejad's speeches - do you know Parsi? If so, check what he actually said, or have a neutral Iranian translate his speeches for you. Oh, and Iranians are white people too, didn't you know? i wont disagree with you there is a lot of history surrounding the Iranian territory throughout the last few thousand years but it doesn't have much to do with today, mainly because modern iran has only been on the global scene since the early 1900's, up until then it has mainly been one dynasty after another as new invaders take over ever few hundred years

We're already in WW III thanks to W and the wimps in Congress. Both W and Dicky need to be in jail for war crimes. Some of their advisors probably need to be jailed as well. The people who are "representing" us in the House and Senate need to be replaced!
I don't really like any of the current candidates for the '08 Presidential election but either of the Democrats are preferable to John - I might be W - McCain. McCain has no clue about how to begin improving life in this country and in the world at large.
