Blake Mycoskie was a budding entrepreneur when his sister convinced him to join her on The Amazing Race 2. The experience on the show led him to go back to countries like Argentina, where he quickly saw the need locals had for basic items
like shoes. He decided to start the shoe brand "Toms Shoes" made up of altruism-minded 20 somethings that donates one free pair of shoes in third world countries for every pair sold.

I was very moved by this pod, I would like to know if Blake is looking for a graphic designer for this company, I would practically work for free, I love that comment "no hand out, a hand up"
talk about paying it forward, Great job Blake

really cool quick hit pod. It's funny how most reality TV stars just end up being wastes of life, but this guy didn't even let it phase him in a bad way. Awesome fellow.

Toms are huge right now, so it was nice to get a little background info on the organization. It's great to see such a unique philanthropic group also be successful in the commercial world.

If "Tom's" shoes can donate one pair of shoes for each one sold, it's obvious the companies of America could fairly easily feed and cloth a lot of starving and homeless people around the world.

i like the concept for the shoes, but wearing the captains hat on the sailboat makes him look like thurston howell III. Which seems like a bad image for a charity/non-profit org/etc......
