At least nine states are considering allowing students to carry guns on campus. A student in Cincinnati is advocating for college students to be armed. Does anyone else find this problematic?

I don't see it as a problem.
You have to look at the facts before forming an opinion.
Concealed carry permit holders must;
Never have been arrested for any violent crime.
Complete a state approved training course.
Be fingerprinted.
Have a very extensive background check done by state police agency.
Have no medical record of mental health problems, addiction to any type of drug or alcohol.
Not be in the middle of a divorce.
Not have a single act of domestic violence against them.
Then, once all that is done you have to mail in your application and wait for the permit.
These adults that would be carrying on campus are already carrying everywhere else in their normal lives. They are simply asking to be able to carry their firearm on campus with them. If they cause no problems outside of the campus, why would they cause a problem on campus?
Now, a look at some more facts.
Concealed carry permit holders are 5 times less likely to be involved in any type of crime.
Currently, around 3 percent (But climbing) of the citizens in the US have a concealed carry permit.
Guns are already present on college campuses, its just that only the criminals have them. Concealed carry permit holders are actually trained to have these firearms on their person and they are not allowed, yet the criminals can walk freely onto campus with these firearms with nothing to stop them but a sign that says "Gun Free Zone".
