Local Nashvillian and host of The Remix, a popular Christian youth show, Azariah Southworth, announced today that he has come out.

I found this MySpace TV ad featuring Azariah Southworth promoting his show. When you go to the Web site, select "The Remix Promo".
I found it sad since Southworth writes, "I know this will end my career in Christian television, but I must now live my life openly and honestly with everyone."
After watching the promo and seeing how proud Southworth appeared on TV, I wonder why it has to be the end of his career as a Christian broadcaster. Does he believe he's no longer Christian if he's gay? Or does he believe his sexuality doesn't make him viable in this career?
I think Southworth would do a lot for both Christianity and LGBT visibility if he tried to remain a broadcaster who is both out about his sexuality and his Christianity.-

i find it interesting that well meaning people seem to want to validate their sinful choices. ANY sex outside the marriage bond between one man and one woman is sin. old and new testatment clearly declare it. there's no way around it. as a married man, i see images of beautiful women everyday and there is the temptation to indulge but i know it's wrong and i won't dishonor my wife or worse yet, dishonor my G-d.
i will also add that while it is a political hot potato, glbt issues are just as much a stain on our morals as adultery, dishonesty, gossip, and other sins.-
