"Serotonin reuptake inhibitors like Prozac and Zoloft have become some of the most widely prescribed drugs in the world, for depressed teenagers as well as adults. Because depression is often a chronic, recurring illness, there are certain to be many young people, like Julie, who are coming of age on these newer antidepressants."
Do these meds affect psychological development? Do they change who we become? And is it worth the risk?
It offers interesting insight on how drugs are tested and approved, along with hypothetical affects over a 15-20 span.
It's time to reconsider psychopharmacology in treating today's youth.
