The gay Catholic group Dignity Washington greeted the Pope as his motorcade drove past.
The group claims the pope looked directly at them as they held a banner reading, "Dignity Washington — Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Catholics, Our Families and Friends — A community of Faith in Action.”
