It is being reported that police have carried out a controlled explosion at a house in Bristol following the arrest of a 19-year-old man under suspicion of terrorism offences.
Avon and Somerset Police said they evacuated 30 people from 14 homes in the suburb of Westbury-on-Trym before bomb disposal officers carried out the explosion at 2 a.m.

Wow!! Maybe this is a good reason to extend the length of time terror suspects can be held. I wouldn't have thought Bristol would be a target for terrorism.

Everywhere is nowadays it seems. Such a shame. Especially with most of them being Muzlim, going 'for Islam' really creates a bad image for the normal believers.

I totally disagree with the comment from rebecca22, I think the current length of detention without charge under the terrorism act is adequate . An increase to 42 days cannot be justified by this story, simply naive.
