  • Low and behold, today, coincidentally is the anniversary of the San Francisco earthquake of 1906.

  • People in my area, of MILWAUKEE were claiming to have felt the quake!

Also, seismologists have downgraded the quake to a 5.2 magnitude.

I woke up to my bed shaking this morning at 5:40. I live in Cincinnati, OH, so it was definitely felt far away.

  • I am in Dayton area laweber and everyone here is saying they felt it also. In fact, my boyfriend just called me from work and said the whole office just felt it again about 15 minutes ago.

  • I didn't feel a thing, but then again, I didn't feel any of the scattered earthquakes throughout the bay area in my 6 years living in SF. I haven't been outside yet to check on any damage, but I've seen the pics on the news...weird.

  • I go to the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. I didn't even wake up - my friend Jenny this morning asked me, "Did you feel the earthquake?" and I thought she was coming on to me. Then I went to class and heard someone talking about it and realized what was going on.

  • It was my first quake! It was so mild, but the whole house was shaking. I had a thought that it might have been an earthquake at the time but they are so uncommon here, especialy of such duration and strength. Thanfkully no damage, save to a few sleepy Hoosiers.I felt as though my bed was going to break however no damge was done.

  • I could feel it all the way in Saint Louis. Even though it just shook the whole house and only lasted minutes, it was still a hair-raising experience.
  • slept right through it :)

  • I felt it in Southern Indiana, woke me up at 5:40 am. I was incredibly disoriented, and was thinking "does Indiana even get earthquakes?" Then in the morning I thought it was a dream until girls in my morning calculus class started discussing it!

  • I live just north of Peoria Illinois. The first quake at 4: 37 woke me up. My bed was shaking and the glass upon my nightstand was rattling. I also felt the strongest after shock around 10 15 am . Neither lasted longer than about 7 seconds...but were stong enough to really know that indeed an earthquake was occuring...

Quite an exciting reminder just before earth day that are planet is ALIVE !
