This man, Ratzinger, now called Pope is for the most part personally an enigma. However, what is known of him - particularly since his election to the papacy should serve as a warning to all people of good will. This pope's behavior is more reminiscent of Pius XII than it is of Paul or John Paul or John. Benedict's choice of 'special guests' at Auschwitz speaks volumes as does his call for the return of the Latin Mass and the return of the prayer condemning the Jews for the death of Christ. I felt certain that the good and thoughtful and benevolent works of Benedict's predecessors had finally brought the Universal Church into the twenty-first century - replete with grace, compassion, and wisdom. The former Cardinal Ratzinger is in no way a facsimile of the men he immediately follows and to me seems an anachronism in his own time. I fervently hope that the movie, 'Constantine's Sword' serves as enlightenment and as a caution.
