Being born to American citizens and having the same religious beliefs as my parents, my family relationships have been pretty easy to deal with. My roomate Mike was born to Vietnamese refugees and was converted to Christianity a few years ago. This short doc explores how Mike has dealt with what family and home mean to him and what he has learned from his experiences and trials.

I liked the idea and the emotions the story brought up. I just wished the framework of the story was more pronounced. I found myself having to fill in the gaps with notions Mike was alluding to. Since he is your roommate, it was a very natural conversational interview. That's really hard to capture sometimes, but I think that since you knew the back story, it didn't make it in the final cut. All in all, it was a good effort. Keep it up.
