How to create an angry American

High treason... this adds credence to the idea that the powers that be do whatever they want at will and with impunity; adding credence to the fact that the U.S. Government doesn't give a damn about humanity or anyone's "rights". George Carlin's assertion that "it's called the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it" seems especially true when these "officials" are called out and Congress doesn't freakn move!

  • A solemn reminder that both this treason and betrayal of the people they've sworn to represent AND 9-11 will NEVER be forgotten. Perfect title. Get a backbone Congress or get another job!

  • What always confused me is, if they knew they were lying about Saddam having WMD when he didn't then why didn't they just make up a story about finding them also?

After manufacturing all the intelligence about them having WMD, would it be as hard to get some that said where they went after the invasion? It doesn't make sense that they wouldn't follow through on something that important to their credibility.

  • That is pretty much what you can conclude from it that they've given up all pretense of even the appearance of accountability for their actions

What else can you say when they load 360 tons of cash onto a cargo plane and don't even bother to give any sort of excuse to what happened to it?

  • Getting angry is one thing, but do something about it people! This video is not news, but it is a good reminder...we can't afford four more years of the same. Come November: get out and vote, vote as if your life depended on it. Because it does! It boggles my mind that McCain is even a viable candidate...but somebody's voting for him...maybe those that are easily manipulated and can't think for themselves.

  • not only vote, but put these bastards on trial when they're out of office. I think they could use a good waterboarding too, personally.

  • Well folks, we have lived through the worst administration in our country's history. Dick Cheney had best never travel to the Pacific Northwest, we'd eat him alive.

  • This is sad, mainstream media saw all these clips as they were happening. Unfortunately, they were co-conspirators in the lead up to war and if they expose them now, or even recognize the lies, they will be exposed also.

They also used an honorable soldier named Jessica Lynch. She testified in front of Congress, she told them, what had been reported to the American public, was a lie. It didn’t happen the way it was presented on TV. The entire event was staged (propaganda).

How can these guys be trusted?

What was to be gained by misleading us into a war of choice?
Money, money, money, money. Greed supercedes honesty, integrity and good judgement. Their greed has ruined our economy and our good name. If we sit idly by and do nothing, we are co-conspirators also.

Unbridled Power supercedes our Constitution. We end up with a ‘Decider’ instead of a ‘Leader’. We must demand honesty. We must demand Congress watch this video and do their jobs. It is a ‘Crime’ for the President to lie to the American people once he takes the ‘oath of office’!

We need accountability, this administration needs to feel SHAME and the wrath of the American Criminal Justice System. They should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!

If all of America were to hear these voices, the occupation of Iraq would already be over.
"We're not bad people; not monsters. We're normal people caught in a horrible situation."
-Statement from Clifton Hicks, a tank gunner with the Army's 1st Cavalry Regiment and testifier at "Winter Soldier, Iraq and Afghanistan"

The lies made ‘Winter Soldier’ a reality. These brave soldiers are living with the lies every day.

Gingrich says Americans 'will give up all their liberties’ for safety. Gingrich is directly contradicted by Benjamin Franklin, who rejected the notion that one should give up one’s liberties out of fear:

'Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety'.

Yesterday, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich visited Drew University in New Jersey, where he took questions from 20 political science majors there. When one asked him how the government could justify stripping rights from Americans in such pieces of legislation as the Patriot Act, Gingrich said that the government has a “right to defend society,” and when under threat, “people will give up all their liberties“:

“If there’s a threat, you have a right to defend society,” Gingrich said. “People will give up all their liberties to avoid that level of threat.“

But, will we give up our liberty for LIES? Hell NO!

  • Well done.

Bin Laden needlessly killed 3,000 Americans on 9/11.
Bush needlessly killed 4,000+ Americans in Iraq.

Bush is the greater danger to Americans.

  • Support your local WW2 Vets. They are dying off and a new evolution is being created.

Bush and the government has scared people. The army s are brain washed and they have the muscle to tell you what to do.

Support the forgotten heroes of WWll!
They are dying without getting recognized.
They are true heroes that fought to defend and not for business.

  • I wasn't familiar with Cosmo's reference to Mussolini so I googled and found that it's true. History does seem to repeat itself...too bad we can't just immediately hang corporate neo-con jerks like this too. The world would be a better place:

"During his reign of oppression and media control, Mussolini, and his economic model, fascism, won the accolades of government-protection-seeking businesses, the magazines and newspapers they owned, and other morons in North America. Fascism (today, the politically correct terms include "corporativism", "corporatism", or "public-private partnership") also became the model upon which Franklin Delano Roosevelt would base his "New Deal". In his 1997 article in The New American, entitled The FDR Legacy: Lest We Forget, William P. Hoar explained:

Nor would he hesitate to take matters into his own hands: "In the event that the Congress shall fail to [act] and in the event that the national emergency is still critical ... I shall ask the Congress for ... broad executive power to wage a war against the emergency as great as the power that would be given me if we were in fact invaded by a foreign foe...

FDR was himself a creature of Wall Street, and those very "economic royalists" had helped elect him governor of New York; he was a friend of the very bankers he often disparaged to great political effect. For example, just after assuming office, FDR wrote to Edward Mandell House, one of the founders of the ubiquitous and influential Council on Foreign Relations: "The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the larger centers has owned the government ever since the days of Andrew Jackson -- and I am not wholly excepting the Administration of W.W. [Woodrow Wilson, to whom House was an intimate adviser]."

Emergencies are a boon to the power-hungry, as Hitler and Mussolini -- both statists like FDR -- had proven. Hoover would later express dismay at how far FDR would go with his power grab, including proposing a bank holiday three days after refusing to go along with Hoover's similar proposal. Roosevelt, by Hoover's count, came up with "emergency" executive orders more than 200 times. The new President, recalled Professor Robert Higgs in his masterful Crisis and Leviathan: Critical Episodes in the Growth of American Government (1987), also used the term "emergency" in various public statements more than 400 times during his first two years in office.

Everyone, related Higgs, "who had not already jumped on the emergency bandwagon now hastened to do so. Congressmen attached the emergency label to almost every bill they enacted. In their rush to legislate, they often conformed to their characterization of the laws they passed. For example, the Emergency Banking Act of March 9, 1933, which validated the President's legally questionable declaration of a national banking closure, was approved by a unanimous shout in the House of Representatives after thirty-eight minutes of debate, even though no member of the House had a copy of the bill..."

    informative stuff...

  • and this, i also found interesting as the writer's concluding statement from the aforementioned link:

"...you can kill the dictator, but you cannot as easily kill an evil meme."

I'd only interject that you dam well *should* kill the dictators as the inventors and major purveyors of sincerely "evil memes." like ..."terror"
