I liked this photo essay. I wanted a little more from it though. It was a little flat (no pun intended).

that was awesome! great photos. i'm so impressed at how posh some of the cribs are. i also noticed much of the cramped quarters are of elders. are there homeless people in shanghai?

There was certainly a difference between the rich and the "poor". I do the quotes only stating that even there are people that an unfortunately even poorer. At least the "poor" people have computers, and televisions. At least these "poor" people have a roof over their head. I think it would've been better if they showed the amputated, or homeless on the street. Last summer when I went to China I saw a man on the streets with a completely infected (most likely dead)leg, that he couldn't even get amputated.

Good photos. I as well wished for something a little more.

Does anyone know the name of the photographer who took these shots??? There's a German photographer named Michael Wolf who's been documenting China's rapid growth over the last couple of years and these pictures remind me a lot of his work.

These photos are great - I love the way that each room looks so unique and individual. The colours and styles seem really personal to each owner. Each room seems to tell a story / capture imagination.
The Michael Wolf prints are similarly great. Makes me want to visit China.
