The American People ARE BITTER

From my blog, Progressive Common Sense:
Barack Obama has been under fire for more than a week because of his "bitter" comments. McCain and Clinton (she pretty much is a Republican now) have been attacking him. They've called him "elitist" and "out of touch"...
The fact is that people are bitter! What, are they happy? Are they happy that 47 million people don't have health care? Are they satisfied about the war? Or about climate change? Are they happy that jobs are going overseas? Are they content about the fact that our constitution is being trampled and the executive branch is expanding it's power? Do they like the direction this country is going? Are they better off today than they were 7 years ago? The American people ARE bitter, they ARE angry. And what makes them angrier is that politicians rather talk about distractions and BS issues than things that actually affect people's lives.

Barack Obama isn't out of touch or an "elitist" . He wasn't born rich. He didn't inherit his money. He worked hard to get where he is today. He chose to work as a community organizer and aid in improving poor neighborhoods.

Many even criticize him for going to Harvard Law and being an "intellectual". Yeah, because being educated is such a bad thing. That's one attack on liberals that I don't understand. In 2000 and 2004, Gore and Kerry were TOO SMART. They knew TOO MUCH. They weren't dumb asses like Bush. Because of course, it's perfectly logical to want a President that would want to have a beer with you, rather than know how to govern, secure, and lead a nation....

  • Barack was mis-parsed.

    It's like this:
    1) some people are gluttonous;
    2) gluttonous people eat a lot of food;
    3)**not all who eat food are gluttonous.**

    Yes, there are bitter, bitter people out there. I try to not be one of them. But (get THIS, media!!) most people with guns, religion, or whathaveyou are not bitter.

    What Barack said:
    1) people have heard promises of a better America for decades
    2) Nothing has changed for the better
    3) Therefore, they ((some, not all, nor even most)) are bitter and don't trust Mr. Newguy.

    Think of this:
    1. Experienced QB, has brought the team to the Super Bowl before, great arm;
    2. Replacement Rookie, has great talent for leading the team, brought the team to the Conference finals.

    Who do you pick?

    If you're Bill Bellichick in January 2002, you pick
    ***The Talented Rookie, Tom Brady!!****

    Experience is NOT better than talent!!

  • Americans are bitter and it behooves me how Hilliary feeds the media with tid bits of the statements, the way I read IT, by the way the "whole QUESTION and statements is that the Government have beaten some people down so much that they cling to their religion and guns, the question was asked of him about the difficulty in getting some rural people to vote. When times are tough what do people do they turn to God, is that a bad thing,all of us had to do that at some point in time in our lives, I lived in church for a while was there 4 to 5 x a wk, and those who have traditions and hobbies they cling to those,I remember those days, learned how to do a lot, did not have much it was all i had. When times are bad many people do blame others, actually that is one of the first thing they do, and if clinging to guns is a means for hunting I guess you have to put food on the table somehow so you vote on all of those issues because they have become personal, you forget about the fact that we are really all in this together, when one hurts we all hurt, but Government have caused so much division and feeds so much class stereotypes that we think we are alone in our bad times. The irony of this is that right now, in these times, we all are doing bad, and if you are the few that have rich uncles or relatives, the way things are going you are not far from me or anyone else, because they are loosing in the markets, pensions, sales or whatever business they are in we are in a recession and yur Government has been hiding it from you, they want to continue to hid it so they give you distractions, pay people to say what they have predicted for you. What touches one person in a bad way is going to touch everyone eventually. So we have to stand up together now. ARISE ABOVE THIS BADLY PLAYED POLICTICS FOR THE DEMOCRATES GO FOR CHANGE NOW. WE ARE WHO WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR. WE ARE THE CHANGES ALL OF US.

  • It is a mess to get into... but, Is Obama a Black Nationalist in disguise? The stuff they have presented lately sure reflects thqt vent about him, which would not be too great for the country as a whole... IT WOULD BE GREAT IF OBAMA'S RHETORIC ADDED UP TO CHANGE...I WANT TO BELIEVE, TRULY I DO... WHAT PROCESSES THAT HE PROPOSES FOR CHANGE DIFFERS FROM THE GOOD OLD BOYS POLITICAL MACHINE... WHAT EXACTLY WILL CHANGE AND HOW? TELL IT! HOW WILL HE IMPLEMENT THE "CHANGES"? WE KNOW THAT HE HAS GREAT SPEECH WRITERS, CHARISMA, ETC., BUT HOW WILL HE GET ANYTHING DONE WHEN UP AGAINST OPPOSITION?

  • I am sure many of you have heard of the man Wayne Dyer. The first book that I ever read by him is called, "WHEN YOU BELIEVE IT, YOU WILL SEE IT!" I know many of you find it difficult to believe in something that you can't yourself imagine how to complete. Consider that a persons intent has much to do with the outcome, a very strong reason that I am so anti Clinton. Her dirty politics speak volumes to me about what her intent is. All of you Clinton supporters better beware, as soon as the lovely ole girl gets to the white house, you become her new target. No more Obama bashing, now it is the individual groups, the American people. Once a lier, always a lier. Why you think that she can treat a fellow candidate, in her own party with no respect, and then lead our country in honorable ways is beyond me.

  • jjmaster --
    To know Barack, get a copy of his book "dreams from my father". At the time, he wasn't even a state senator, and is a lot franker than most politicians ever are. It's not a great read, but if you remeber throughout it that he's the one telling the story, this is clear: he tries to be careful not to get afrocentrics mad at him. If I had to put a tag on what he is, I'd say he's a coaltion builder. He's not interested in specific points as much as direction.
    What does Barack stand for, then? In a word, tighter cooperation between groups.

    As for the anti-Clinton feelings here, I'd say that if Ihe Hillary people are argueing to superdelegates that Barack has baggage, that's the damnest case of "pull the log out of your own eye" that I've ever seen. Hillary has done zero to deal with the percetion that she's cold, shrewish, and will toss aside anyone just to 'get ahead.' Let me put it this way: John McBush can take her out just by half-promising the country we'll be out of Iraq 'with honor" by 2012. But that's wont be necessary, because the superdelegates will not back Hillary, because she will not take the pledged-delegate lead. D. Plouffe is the Wizard of Odds.
