I used to think the three-minute/three-chord convention was the formula for a perfect pop song, but this guy's onto something with 2:42.

Does this take into account that your song HAD to be under 3 minutes for a LONG time to get air play?

Mmm... The only 2:42 song in my iTunes is "To The Dancers In The Rain" by Emilie Simon. It's one of my favourite songs, but might as well be a coincidence.

You're probably not going to believe this but I wrote a song on Monday and recorded it onto GarageBand on my mac. As a bit of a beginner in the world of song-writing I was pretty happy with it! AND IT WAS 2 minutes 42 seconds long!! What are the chances!?
Plus on my itunes....
You could have it so much better - Franz Ferdinand
Sheila Take a Bow - The Smiths
Here it comes - The Stone Roses
1967 - The Auteurs
Lovely Rita - The Beatles
There She Goes - The LAs
Don't Ever Think - The Zutons
Centre of Gravity - Yo La Tengo
Legal Man - Belle & Sebastian
IT'S TRUE!!
