I have lived in three continents. I speak 41/2 languages and I have traveled in many parts of the world. Yet, the greatest journey I have just begun is one without motion.
I just turned 25 and currently finishing grad school, thus I've been asking myself what is my next step. In the process of figuring out the answer to that question, I discovered that there are many more questions that have to be answered first. Who am I as an individual? What is my purpose? What is my VOCATION? What will make me happy? Through this INTERNAL debate and in search of some answered I talked to many youth that are asking themselves the same question. Youth that are in search of a greater connection to the world than just their own society...and that's when I just heard of the Humanist movement. The movement is about putting humans before money, politics, religion and all superficial objects. This is a global movement that has been going on for about 45 years and not much light has been shed on it. I would like to investigate this movement and the millions of people it affects around the globe. This is a new philosophy that is growing by the day and it needs to be looked into

Very good. I'd like to know more about it also.

It always irritated me when a school would ask what sort of (organized) "community service" I gave my time to - as though contributing to ones society by the type of human you were, or the perhaps small or huge sacrifices you made of yourself did not matter.

The journey within...is that of self discovery...most people go through life without really taking time to get to know each other...i believe that you must discover yourself in order to determine the path of your life...so before you go through the journey of your life...you have to go on a journey within...Its in the same line of think as...you have to love and respect yourself first before you can truly love and respect others...To give you an example...Look at people that go through Middle life crisis...This happens because when you come to a certain age..lets say 50's or 60"s that when you trully accept your mortality..that's when you body starts to slow down..(at a young age..now matter how much we say "Yea I'll die one day"..we never really understand it) but at 50 or so...your faced with it...Thus, thats when you start questioning things..Who am I...What was the purpose of my life..and so fort..and people start regressing...Some men go buy fast cars and get younger girls in order to relive their youth..others go on self discoveries...But that not how its suppose to be...IF we take time to self-discover during our youth..we will always have a sense of self and purpose...I believe that all the answers to our question in life are within us...we just have to take time and a look...I hope that was helpful :)
