A new Gallop poll out shows that Bush has the highest disapproval rate of any president in the last seventy years. The Democrats are going to try to tie McCain to the President, and McCain will have to try and deny that, but at the same time avoid insulting Bush.

    • not like Bush and McCain are not both aware of this...Bush even mentioned the fact that McCain is distancing himself from him at his press dinner, BUT...the thing is, I think the Republican party is comfortable (on some level) with letting the Democrats take office, and then saddling this party with all of the aftereffects of the mess the Republican party has made. Certainly this would not be the first time the incoming got the blame for everything the outgoing set in motion.

Bush has entrenched himself--and his policies--so firmly into the fabric of American life that whoever takes the oval office is going to have an uphill battle from day 1 if they even try to move in a contrary direction, and there is mounting evidence that at least one of the Democratic hopefuls is not intent on moving in the opposite direction.

Most telling of all is the way Bush has embedded the judicial system in this nation from the top down to ensure that his policies go on long after he leaves the oval office.

    • YES!

28% approve? Those numbers are exaggerated! They've got to be lower than that.

He wouldn't even still be in office if Nancy Pelosi wasn't protecting him.

    • McBush is linked at the hip with the war in Iraq, the agents of intolerance, the economy (see his senate voting record) and the 69% disapproval rating of the policies that are currently being forced on us.
