Remember CDs?
In the pre-iTunes era, many artists would hide extra songs at the end of the tracklist.

The beauty of the 'secret song' has gone the way of the mixtape, it's become victim to an obsolete format.
Maybe artists will figure out other ways to hide tracks.
I was always a big fan of the Green Day's secret song on Dookie.-

Nifty. Thanks much. Nirvana's "Verse Chorus Verse" from the "No Alternative" compilation is listed. My favorite raw mix...ever.

One of my favorite hidden tracks was Tool's weird acid-trip song at the end of Opiate. If you had the record, there were actually double grooves, so depending on where you put the needle down, you'd either hear the secret song, or you'd hear the regular track.
Also, Tool had a secret poem hidden at the end of ten minutes of silence that followed the secret song on Undertow (track 69).
Interestingly, Tool does not put their music on iTunes. You can only buy their albums in stores. -
because tool is one of the greatest bands of all time and MJK is a genius, a crazy genius, but a genius

Great site but it would be really cool if they'd teamed up with a site like Seeqpod so there were streaming files of the songs in question. I'd love to hear some of them.

I'm also a fan of hidden artwork in the CD case itself... like the map behind the CD tray on Weezer's Pinkerton.
