I never even heard of Thomas Friedman before someone pied him.
Now I'm going to have to look into why the pie-ers claim:
"Thomas Friedman deserves a pie in the face because of his sickeningly cheery applaud for free market capitalism's conquest of the planet, for telling the world that the free market and techno fixes can save us from climate change. From carbon trading to biofuels, these distractions are dangerous in and of themselves, while encouraging inaction with respect to the true problems at hand."

Thomas Friedman's writings may be smugly idiotic, but he does not deserve a pie in the face. Now Bush and Cheney on the other hand...

I dont know if Mr. Friedman deserved a pie. Honestly, I dont think so. Please, explain to my why? And maybe I will understand.
The problems that we face are enormous an no one man or woman can address them all. Our nation runs on capitalism (which can be beneficial and dangerous at the same time) the key is how to address human greed. He covers one of many situation we must confront, just like other people address other issues such as global waring, health care, food shortages, racisim, etc.. His topics are well thought thru and I appreciate that, I dont have to agree with all of them, but I can appreciate his work and learn from his experiences, it serves and important purpose in our society.
So why did he deserve a pie again?
