AWWW poor snipes. It sucks to cuz he isn't going to jail for doing anything cool, just tax fraud.
It would have been cooler going to jail for something like killing vampires, or being half vampire half human.
-
So I guess now when I play roulette, I shouldn't always bet on black.

the betting strategy is as sound as ever - just be sure to pay taxes on your earnings!
-
It's nice to see a celebrity held accountable for his actions, but I know he won't end up spending a day behind bars.
-
Good a least this makes up for that crap ass movie Blade
-
Why should anyone go to prison for something like this? Don't we already jail enough of our population?
-
Press is press. Even "if" he spends a second in Club Fed, he'd run with the Michael Milken tour of exceptional criminality. The fame game is very selective, when the cameras roll. Action!
-
Enough with the black jokes people. Eddie Ray Con set up a company called ARL and told Wesley Snipe that he would not have to pay taxes on money earned in the US. Eddie Ray and Douglass Rozell, the guy who file the tax return got the lesser sentence permitted by law. This report can be
found on west2.com news. No time for the master mind. Check it out for yourself. The judge wanted to send a message to who?holla back
-
"This case presents the court with a singular opportunity to deter tax fraud nationwide," the government said in its sentencing recommendation.
-
Why couldn't the judge simply put Snipes onto a repayment schedule that included interest beyond the norm instead of recommending a prison sentence? I totally agree that the U.S. uses prison/punishment as it's first, middle, and last recourse. Somehow being such a punitive nation hardly meshes with our supposed enlightened philosophy and tendency toward leading the world in technological advances amongst a whole host of other sophisticated 'ologies'.

Why shouldn't we go to jail for this. Granted there are too many people in the prison system but that gives no citizen the right to just flat out refuse to pay taxes. If that were the case, everyone would start following in his footsteps.
He is not a bright man!

Hm, all this contempt for Snipes is very interesting. But I do agree it would do more good to just make him payback what he owes as opposed to yet another person that really just needs a swift kick as opposed to jail time. Imprisonment is not the answer to everything.
-
When I think of all the white collars that should be jailed for really high crimes...this is in the same class as the Paris Hilton stint in stir.

Update - This knucklehead tried to pay the court with 3 checks totaling 5 million. Question: 3 years divided by a 15 million dollar fine, equals "wino-time".
