'Awake?' profiles young South African hip-hop artist Abantu and his father Vukile Tshewula who was imprisoned at Robben Island. It's a shout out to the youth to remember the struggle for freedom from apartheid.
How did we get involved? Well last week we were invited to South Africa to make a short film in a week with young people in Motherwell township near Port Elizabeth.
We had no idea what we'd come up with, or exactly who we'd be working with.
Nomtha Ntsheyiya is an 18 year old woman on a year long internship at Mandela Bay Pictures. We worked with her, 5 of her friends and people from Motherwell Arts Centre during an amazing week. We made another film too, 'Tales of Headz' which we'll post up soon.
Take a look, it's Nomtha's first time making a documentary and we think she's done a great job.

I loved this. Thought it was going to get really sad and preach on, but i watched it an hour ago, and i'm still thinking about it. Was that Abantu's music playing from the beginning? dug that.
