Sean Bell shooting verdict in: NOT GUILTY

A judge acquitted three New York Police Department detectives of all charges Friday morning in the shooting death of an unarmed man in a 50-bullet barrage, hours before he was to be married.

Detectives Michael Oliver and Gescard Isnora were found not guilty of charges of manslaughter, assault and reckless endangerment in the death of Sean Bell, 23, and the wounding of two of his friends.

Detective Marc Cooper was acquitted of reckless endangerment.

  • Another example of police brutality without consequence. It is a shame to see that we have not made as much progress as some may think. Time and time again situations like this have plaqued the black community. " To Protect and Serve" ????
    Well the 1st question is who gave that young man protection???
    2nd question is served him 50 shots or more???
    3rd question is who in the hell hires these guys??!.

  • Wow, 50 bullets between 3 cops? Doesn't that mean that means there was time to drop 2 clips, and load 2 clips. Excessive overkill.

  • Peopl are making this a huge racial controversy, which i absolutely love how innocent they're making Sean Bell out to be. What they don't show however, is the entirety of this story. Sean Bell was at a strip club when he and his group of friends got into a dispute with another group of young men. Sean Bell and one of his friends stated out loud they had guns in the car and were going to shoot the other group of men. Little did any of they know that there were undercover officers covering another case in the club and heard this. They then followed Sean and his friends to the car where Bell supposedly had guns. When police shouted POLICE PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR trying to settle the situation before anyone got hurt, Bell got in the car and ran over an officer, after he hit the first officer he then reversed to try and hit the rest.

    Now, after this...I didn't know it was concidered racist to try and protect ones own life...
