Notorious sexylady Tanya Devereaux says that she is turning virgin surgeon in order to divest any nerd of his cherry — provided that they support a free web. One of the terms and conditions states that the act must not last for more than 30 minutes. Er, could any guy last more than 30 seconds on their first time?

So, let's see. No anal sex without prior negotiation. Condoms must be worn, unless the nerd-gin wishes to release his manfat on Tanya's body. No under-18s. Proof that the victimrgin supports net neutrality must be provided (a black tee-shirt with "I Support Net Neutrality" emblazoned on the front won't cut it, sorry). Finally, Tanya "may deny service for hygiene reasons."

  • "may deny service for hygiene reasons."

Certainly wouldn't want to leave that out!

She could become quite the busy girl.

  • i think net neutrality is the way the internet is now, the other side, which i think some companies wish to impose is that the internet is made faster in some areas and slower in others, so big companies can buy faster internet connections for their websites while small companies can only afford slow internet...

..if that makes sense.. sorry if it doesnt.

  • Net neutrality just means that everyone is the same on the internet.

Whether is Microsoft or some mexicantacos-in-texas restaurant, they both will still be the same under the rules of the internet. - Same bandwith, same speed, same basic html, etc.

Big ass companies want to change that.
Lot of people are against it, since the internet is the only place in the world, where everyone is the same.

  • Net neutrality also means no censorship, in my book. No restricted content . . .

  • In 'A Guide to Net Neutrality for Google Users' it states that,

Network neutrality is the principle that Internet users should be in control of what content they view and what applications they use on the Internet.
Fundamentally, net neutrality is about equal access to the Internet. In our view, the broadband carriers should not be permitted to use their market power to discriminate against competing applications or content.
Just as telephone companies are not permitted to tell consumers who they can call or what they can say, broadband carriers should not be allowed to use their market power to control activity online.

In an open letter CEO of Google Eric Schmidt writes

"The Internet as we know it is facing a serious threat. There's a debate heating up in Washington, DC on something called "net neutrality" – and it's a debate that's so important Google is asking you to get involved. We're asking you to take action to protect Internet freedom.

In the next few days, the House of Representatives is going to vote on a bill that would fundamentally alter the Internet. That bill, and one that may come up for a key vote in the Senate in the next few weeks, would give the big phone and cable companies the power to pick and choose what you will be able to see and do on the Internet."

He adds a call to action for American citizens to contact their representitive regarding the house vote in May.

I wonder if Miss Tanya Devereaux will be visiting other high profile campaigners such as the Google board to give her support
