Jonathan Cheever, a member of the U.S. Snowboarding team, is a SBX racer by day and a plumber by night. Growing up in Boston, Jonathan has overcome unpredictable East Coast winters and seasoned veterans to earn his place on the World Cup team.

  • Great job Shannon! I love how you integrated footage of both Jonathan and his dad retelling the story of the car accident. The POV snowboarding footage really puts the viewer right on the mountain with them.

  • As a snowboarder, and always wondering if I should try boarder cross, it has been made clear to me now that I am not toough enough, nor do I like to board in jeans and a leather jacket. All of that was made clear with your work. Love it Shan, everything I was interested in hearing about, nothing I wasn't. I am really friggin impressed.

  • This pod is alot of fun to watch. For all those who are afraid of going straight down the hill on a snowboard its a thrill ride to have that first person shot. Overall it was edited very well, the ordering of events from the introduction, to snowboarding, to plumbing, then back to snowboarding was an excellent tactic to keep the viewer constantly engaged. I found the camera to be a bit too shaky on some of the handhelds but thats ok. I realize this is a rough cut, not too much in terms of audio mixing/blending/levels. With some smoother transitions and titles (polish) this would be even more professional looking. The character is great, the movement is what propels it, the information is more geared to entertainment, and the conflict is present in both parts of his life - as you have touched upon. You put alot of work and thought into this pod and it really shows. Great work.

  • I really like the plumbing sequence as it takes some of the polish off and shows that keeping your day job is usually a wise decision.

  • I love the intro! It really got the video off to a good start. And I agree that the duel storytelling was a nice additional effect. The music however seemed just a bit off. Overall I really liked it though! Keep chasing your dream.
