Why not to bomb Iran

Absolutely beautiful images. I've always loved Arabic/Persian architecture, and I'd love to see it in person...
When I think of the historical treasure and architecture that was destroyed during the US invasion of Baghdad, it makes me quite angry. I hope that never happens in Iran.

thanks so much for the find, kingston. those pictures are so beautiful! i love persia! i remember when i was in 2nd grade and my mom bought my sister and i an encyclopedia set before she left the country for work. i was completely enthralled by the images of persia (and learned a bit about Zoroastrianism enough to look deeper into it in college years later).

These are some of the first images I have seen of Iran that haven't been government issued propaganda. I wish we were shown this side of the nation more than its "evil," maybe we would appreciate that part of the world a little more.

I do not think we should bomb Iran, nor many other places. Think of it this way.

Hitler "bombed" the Jews and anything else that did not agree with his ideology, out of history. We do not want to "bomb" history. Bombing Iran would also be "bombing" history.

Well...we made sure the ancient artifacts in Iraq were pludered or destroyed. Why not move to Iran? Then the US can march right through what's left of eastern Europe, then the Iberian penisula and moving finally to Washington D.C. Or maybe we should start by cleaning up Washington before they destroy what's left of an unbelievably rich culture.

the destruction and looting of the natural history museum in Baghdad was a real tragedy. We had soldiers guarding the oil facilities while letting the historical legacies of the beginnings of our civlization go to ruins. shows you where the American government's values are.

How about telling Iran stop denying the right of Israel to exist, the holocaust, and to stop trying to build a nuke. Perhaps the responsibility to protect their national/ historic treasures should lie solely on them not to continue acting like assholes.

These pictures are absolutely amazing! I never knew how beautiful Iran geology really is. No wonder Iranians are proud people. They're more mature and have deeper roots in history than the people who threaten them for sure.

There are a great many people who need to stop automatically embracing the simple/ flawed thought process that equates a nation's current leader with the nation's entire civilian population.
It just makes things worse, and widens the rifts between people.

arguably , Putin "backing" Iran works in the US's interests , as it might prevent the US from jumping into another war which would sink it even further into debt - if having a NWO which involves US presidents having to check their ambitions or else risk suicide , i'm all for it - there has to be a balance of power eventually - the only other option is "Gotterdammerung " - at some point it has to dawn on all the "major players" in this world that "war" is MAD. playing by the same old rules of localized conflicts hasn't benefited anyone - and it isn't going to work in the future - this is a new era - "grand alliances" are being formed , and those countries which choose to be islands unto themselves will be at a very costly disadvantage . adapt or die - that simple .
