A searing interview with Avichai Sharon and Noam Chayut, both veterans of the Israeli Defense Forces and members of Breaking the Silence. Sharon and Chayut served during the second intifada, an on-going bloodbath that has claimed the lives of over three thousand Palestinians and nine-hundred-fifty Israelis. After thorough introspection, these young men have chosen to speak out about their experiences as self-described "brutal occupiers of a disputed land." Producer: Sat Gwin
Alternate Focus is available on the Dish Network, Free Speech TV, Channel 9415, Saturdays at 8:00pm EST and on cable stations near you. Check www.alternatefocus.org for details.

ıt is good to hear the views of these young people because you get a feeling of the reality that is happening there and now where they are living..and also that the goverment which after all is only a caretaker government run by a caretaking head..who has no true leadership values..should be replaced by some of these younger generation leaders.ıt would be more humane to go into to Palestine and totally destroy it..rather than to keep inflicting more death and destruction daily.Olmert and his government should be brought to trial for their war crimes so far..not only in Palestine where they bombard the whole community constantly under the guise of selective targetting for militia personel..but also to Lebanon where again they totally destroyed the lives of mainly innocent people and left numerous cluster shells to be discovered at cost to some childs life at a later date. The time has come for both sides to agree to a ceasefire and total review of the situation whereby israel destroys its fence..gives back the land that it illegally took and then try to come to a secure situation for all parties..after all they are all living in the same territory at the end of the day..who makes the first right move?

Good response mcwally.
there are evils on both sides and it is mostly from the leadership..in Palestine also, I would add.-

I agree - the Israeli government should be prosecuted for war crimes!
It's good to see those with a conscience speaking out. More power to them!
I'll definitely pass this along.-

More...much, much more at Alternate Focus, a mind opening website.

"The Jews face overt threats no American can truly understand, so we must be very careful about negatively labeling Israel."
Yes, I agree. Instead of labeling, let's do bar charts instead. If you're an American, please take a look at this site maintained by Jews, Muslims, and Christians.-

Our soldiers have recently spoke out against the War in Iraq. They are called 'Winter Soldiers'. It is going to take their voices to change the way people perceive war. It will take much effort to get their voices heard. The leaders who are 'deciding' how the war is fought seem to be deaf? Journalists do them a great disservice by not speaking for them. They are speaking out, mainstream media should let their voices be heard.
Americans who have heard the voices of our soldiers should let the media and their sponsors know, we are watching, we are reading, WE KNOW! The power of OUR purses, deciding how we spend our money, may make them reconsider who gets heard? PROFIT SHOULD TALK, POLITICS SHOULD WALK!
Mainstream media depend on sponsors. Sponsors depend on US. We need to speak for ALL the brave soldiers with LOUD VOICES. IF WE WOULD SPEAK LOUDLY, THEY WOULD CHOOSE PROFIT OVER POLITICS AND REPORT FACTS OVER SPIN! -
Those are very courageous young men - it is always good to see a man reintegrate his natural integrity.

I'll take Cosmo's cautionary suggestion... though I sincerely hate how almighty "policy" is supposed to be the governing condition for every situation/circumstance, however incongruent. Seems governments and corporate business leaders always feel privileged to use that as the most convenient excuse to wipe their a$$ while handing you the soiled shit paper to dispose of...at *your* convenience. tsk...and no "burning consciences" there.
seems I can't get through to that
ifamericansonlyknew site =/ but I notice it supposedly comes under some criticism from a few sources (Anti-Defamation League, Defending America for Knowledge and Action, and the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America) for being anti-Isreali in at least some of their reporting presumably.
seems necessary to have the broadest perspective possible if there can be any honest respect for differences, and common good-will there. seems like the bad blood soaks the ground over there, and all we may have are a bunch of pissed-off people with murderous intent. *shrug* what's anyone to do??? -
We should not care what the Anti-Defamation League thinks, and I know nothing of the others but suspect they are no better.
I was in Los Angeles in 2001 following 9/11. The local president of the JDL and (VP - I believe) was arrested and prosecuted for planning to bomb two Muslim mosques in Los Angeles. They had the materials in their possession.
This wasn't all that this organization was up to, trust me. A few years ago, there was talk about one of the JDL members who got locked up - and he was promptly murder in a Texas jail - no doubt to prevent him from implicating anyone else.
The whole anit-Semitic thing is a ploy to keep the focus off the evil things they are doing and to make the person who brings attention to their evil deeds "defensive" - causing that person to change their focus from those evil deeds to themselves - distraction you know.
Be aware of it - and when this evil tactic is employed, know the person who is using it suffers from arrested development and likely incapable of being honest with themselves, and certainly not with you or me.-
