To McCain & Hillbillary: Put YOUR daughters where YOUR mouths are!
Word up to Nancy Pelosi: at what cost are you willing to play mother to Bush?
"The Department of Defense statistics are alarming - one in three women who join the US military will be sexually assaulted or raped by men in the military. The warnings to women should begin above the doors of the military recruiting stations, as that is where assaults on women in the military begin - before they are even recruited."
"But, now, even more alarming, are deaths of women soldiers in Iraq and in the United States following rape. The military has characterized each death of women who were first sexually assaulted as deaths from "noncombat related injuries," and then added "suicide." Yet, the families of the women whom the military has declared to have committed suicide strongly dispute the findings and are calling for further investigations into the deaths of their daughters. Specific US Army units and certain US military bases in Iraq have an inordinate number of women soldiers who have died of "noncombat related injuries," with several identified as "suicides."

this is really sad...and disappointing to read.
-
Very disturbing.
-
Woah. Has there always been a problem with rape, or is the increase in incidence tied to the increase of women enlisting? It's like tripling my chances of having this vile act happen to me when all I want to do is serve my country. Where's the switch here?
-
I can't believe that things like this happen all the time. What's even more disturbing is that the higher ups are going to deny and protect what those soldiers did to protect the boy's club called the military

Lack of Love and Respect for Each Others can sink the ship as fast than we can sense and think of it. By the way, this is primarily a Spiritual issue that spills towards Psychology and Health with suffering and stressful consequences. Most relationships events in life are very much dependent of how a person is initiated. If your initiation is followed by a "rape" form, then, that won't give you much respect in life isn't? Can You see now what lack of GOD, (LOVE), in your life can do? If you do not have GOD, you got nothing!!! I have seen most of the human problems and their issues in life and I personally got the conclusion that, only GOD can save you from a mediocre and abusive initiation group of psychopaths.
-
It's one of the only times I don't want to know something, but I have to...even if it makes me die a little inside for knowing. I hate War even more than I thought humanly possible.
-
stopnoise, I consider myself a Christian. I have my beliefs, but I think it's up to ‘people’ to save these other ‘people’ from a mediocre and abusive initiation group of psychopaths.
It may take faith and God to overcome the effects on ones life after it happens. But it will take awareness of the problem to correct it. God can't stop it, we can! Stand up for ‘people’, we can't count on God to change things.
If God is in control of your life, this may be a test? You may be a vehicle for change and not even realize it. Don't trivialize other peoples lack of faith, use your faith to activate your voice for change. -
The thing is, busheney and gang (and Nancy Pelosi) are well aware of this going on!
What other elected officials know and turn a blind eye?
Is this what Bush refers to when he comments on the fact that they volunteers or that this is a volunteer military? -
yes, so just keep FUNDING it.

VoyagerFilms, they are all aware of these facts! They don't acknowledge the facts because it's their job to address these types of facts and it's tooo hard. What if it hurt their fundraising? Courage is lacking in politics today. We have an all VOLUNTEER ARMY and PAID (BOUGHT) POLITICIANS!

Conniepae, I am with you but you must understand that GOD is in you! It is in your heart, deep in your Spirit and Mind. That means that each one of us are part of the Spirit of GOD. When we act, that is GOD's IN ACTION, since we are part of it!!! I hope you get this point and do not separate GOD from anything you do! Yes, it depend of each one of us, each one of us lead by the Spirit of GOD. Let us not take GOD's credit from it because GOD do not take any credit from us, on the contrary, GOD lift us up cheerfully and with Love.
Should not be our pleasure to acknowledge it in our every ways? -
( yawns)
-
That’s horrible but wait! I thought 1/3 women were victims of sexual assault? Fill me in cause I don’t understand what this report is trying to say. Are you saying the deviancy within the military is proportionate to our society, and that’s wrong because our soldiers are supposed to be honorable? Or are women being raped in greater percentages by our military?
-
very disturbing, is the military even doing anything to try and stop it or is it a non-issue for them?

No, and it's not a problem for the military. People really need to be talking about this a lot more. It is an extremely painful topic, but another reality from our glorious war on terror. It's funny how many state side go on and on about morality and all that, but refuse to look at the acts we ourselves our committing on our own people. This needs to be addressed, often and critically.
-
This is lower than low. Talk about terrorism!
-
Here's a link to an article I posted about this a couple of weeks ago, and another link in the comments on that page I found that Ralph Nader had wrote about this issue over a year ago.
-
Eating itself from the inside... this is something I would have blamed on Russia or some similiarily corrupt developing nation. So sad :(
-
When the military brainwashes people to kill, then rape is just an afterthoughts. Watch out--if those idiots in the Pentagon mandate "psychological kevlar"--you might see more. Scares hell out of me!
-
That's "afterthought". Sorry, typo.
