Concert promoters are offering a $10,000 reward and four lifetime passes to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival for the safe return of a giant inflatable pig that's gone missing.
The spray-painted pig balloon was released during Roger Waters' performance Sunday at the festival. The school-bus-size prop emerged during "Pigs," a song from Pink Floyd's 1977 album Animals.
"A pig got loose last night," said Bill Fold, one of the festival's producers, on Monday. "We really like him and want him back.... It's a very emotional time for us."
The pig was covered with political graffiti: "Don't be led to the slaughter," read one slogan. "Fear builds walls," read another. A cartoon Uncle Sam painted on the pig held two bloody cleavers, and the porker's belly read "Obama," with a checked ballot box alongside, according to the Associated Press.
-UPDATE: PIG FOUND
Two couples found tattered halves of the pig in their yards, a few miles from the festival grounds.
Concert organizers had offered a $10,000 reward for the pig's return. On Tuesday, pieces of the plastic carcass were examined.
"That's definitely our pig," producer Bill Fold said.
Susan Stoltz found a plastic heap in her driveway Monday, but said she didn't know what it was until she read about the missing pig in the Desert Sun newspaper.
"My kids are going to think I'm so cool," she said.
Another resident of the same neighborhood, Judy Rimmer, said she found a piece of the pig draped over a front-yard plant.
The two couples will split the cash reward, Fold said.

I want that pig. My guess is that it could go for more than 10k on eBay. Do I hear 10,001?

Joe Brilliant, you owe me $5

That's not a pig, that's a sow - there's milk flowing in fine streams from her udders.

Only right and fitting it made an escape, probably aided by some festy revellers. -
Sadly, something akin to slaughter did befall it...how ironic is that?
-
