  • And as long as there are people willing to pay these outrageous prices at the pump instead of seeking alternative transportation, we won't see any relief. I know it's probably more complicated than that, but that's the core of the problem.

    There ARE other means of transportation in most areas but most people in this country are just too lazy to utilize them or too accustomed to the luxuries of driving a car to consider them.

    Stop driving your cars. Ride a bike. Take the bus.

  • That's not entirely true. If hybrids and electric car sells increase it will put the auto industry at odds with the oil companies.

  • What percentage of the price per gallon is US taxes? ISn't time these were lowered to regular sales tax levels?

    Also if oil companies are making record profits now then that should tell us that something is wrong.

    Punish the oil co's, reduce or eliminate the gas tax and stop flying thousands of useless sorties with jet fighters and running tanks all over the desert.

    That would be a start to improving the economy of the world in general.

    Oil makes record profits from us the same year our wallets bleed to death. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure the two are somehow connected.

    This is exactly what i have been saying ever since our gas prices started going up. The oil companies are raping us at the pumps, regardless of the price of crude. Gas could still be at 2.00 a gallon but filthy greedy fat bastards are lining their pockets on our hard earned green. thats why i walk and ride my bike as much as possible because i hate putting gas in my car knowing where the money is going (and no i don't give a damn about emissions)

    i'm about ready to go kidnap and torture the little bastards into lowering gas prices (disclaimer: not literally, for lawsuit purposes)

  • It costs me $17.00 more this year than last to fill up the same car... My bike needs a little oil... and it's good to go... whoops, may-be I can put some Ghee on it, no thats from cows, ummmm, what then?

THE REAL REASON GAS IS SO HIGH IS BECAUSE EVERY LITTLE EVENT IN THE WORLD SCARES THE HELL OUT OF SOME PANSY AND HE SPECULATES THE SUPPLY WILL BE LIMITED. THAT'S WHEN THE OIL COMPANIES SLOW DOWN PRODUCTION AT THE 35 YEAR OLD REFINERIES SO THAT THE SUPPLY IS REDUCED AND THE RESERVES ARE THEN PORTRAYED AS SHORT. BULLSHIT!!!!! OUR GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO GET OFF THEIR ASSES AND START DRILLING IN ALASKA AND THE WESTERN STATES WHERE THERE IS MORE OIL THAN ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. THE OIL COMPANIES NEED TO SPEND SOME OF THAT BILLIONS IN PROFIT ON NEW REFINERIES THAT DONT BREAK DOWN EVERY FLIPPIN WEEK AND STOP GIVING THEIR SORRY ASS CEO 22,0000,000.00. CAN YOU TELL I"M FED UP???? WE ALL KNOW WE ARE BEING MISLEAD BY ALL THESE PEOPLE AND THERE IS'NT A DAMN THING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT BECAUSE WE HAVE TO COMMUTE TO WORK AND DO OTHER THINGS FOR ENTERTAINMENT OR WE WOULD GO CRAZY. WE ARE HOOKED ON OIL BUT IF WE WOULD DRILL HERE, WE ALL KNOW IT WOULD BE AFFORDABLE. WHAT ABOUT THE MAN WHO DRIVES 20 MILES A DAY TO WORK TO SUPPORT HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN AND ONLY MAKES 10-12 BUCKS AN HOUR. HE SIMPLY CANNOT AFFORD THIS AND THESE PEOPLE ARE THE BACKBONE OF OUR COUNTRY. IF IT WERE JUST FUEL PRICES, IT WOULD'NT BE SO SEVERE BUT ELECTRICITY, FOOD, CLOTHING AND ANY COMMODITY FEELS THE PAIN WHEN FUEL IS SOOOOOOO HIGH. FOR GOD SAKES, IT COSTS ME 200.00 TO FERTILIZE MY LAWN. GET THE PANSY DEMS OUT OF CONGRESS AND PUT SOME PEOPLE WITH BALLS IN THERE ANDTHINGS SHOULD GET BETTER....
