Another clever media ploy by those animal rights people....but hey, he is pretty cute. Just not my type.
I think if a large percentage people just reduced their meat intake by a certain percent, that would be even better for the environment than if a small percentage of people became completely vegetarian. I think the key to doing it is education, emphasizing common sense and health, enviro- and humane facts. I agree it is unlikely we'll ever get eating meat to become unfashionable. But reducing one's meat consumption certainly could be. What do you think?

he is pretty damn cute! the female winner is pretty adorable as well. i agree that as a society we need to work to begin treating the world around us and the animals that inhabit it with respect. slow down on your meat intake people!!
-
julie, good points. i'm definitely not opposed to reducing my meat consumption.
...for those meat-eaters who are concerned w/animal care standards, here is a website that will tell you which grocery stores in your area carry humane raised and handled products.

cool resource tingaling, thanks. I stopped eating hamburgers when the burger shops couldn't tell me whether or not the cows were mistreated.

I just heard the author of the bestselling book "Skinny Bitch" speak at an event at UCLA tonight. She's made veganism nearly fashionable!
