Author Ted Rall argues that President Bush is guilty of torture, and even murder, and should face arrest and trial. He sites evidence of public admission to torture and knowledge of torture under Bush's watch. "Because the torture ordered by Bush and his cabinet directly resulted in death, they must additionally be charged with several counts of murder. Fifteen U.S. soldiers have been charged with the murders of two detainees at the U.S. airbase at Bagram, Afghanistan in 2002. They were following orders issued by their Commander-in-Chief and his Principals."
Ball sites legal justification for the arrest of President Bush, including the U.N. Convention Against Torture, a treaty the United States supports and is a signatory.
Ball addressed the difficult question of who could arrest the President. Lawyers argue that if arrested the President could easily pardon himself if he were arrested under federal authority, so Ball encouraged Cathy L. Lanier, the 39-year-old chief of D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department to arrest and charge the President.

I totally agree. Bush needs to stand trial for his many many crimes against the ideals of the USA and against humanity.
Never forget: Osama Bin Laden killed 3,000 Americans needlessly on 9/11. George W. Bush killed over 4,050 Americans needlessly in Iraq. Therefore, Bush is more dangerous to Americans.
-
If he is arrested and then pardons himself it would only be admitting to his guilt and the coruption of the government. So, with this is mind, he would find some way of never being arrested, convicted or what have you.
-
Despite how much I would love it to be done, I would one, not want Dick Cheney being the official president (even though he's basically the unofficial one now) and two, I doubt it would ever happen.
-
LarzNero Don't forget that Bush and Cheney are also indirectly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of deaths (mostly civilian) in Iraq.
-
too bad this wont happen, bush and cheney made sure of that
-
Deny Cheney batteries then arrest Bush.

I keep thinking "1.20.09." Do you think we'll be expediting Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al. to stand trial for international war crimes after the current administration leaves office, or is that just a fantasy of mine?
-
Yes, WE all know how bad he has been on so many fronts yet to have Cheney in his place would be most likely the only reason he has not been taken out yet.
-
I think the only crime Bush is guilty of is not being President - he has proved to be a dufus - no real brain power - just feed him the words and he will spit them out in random order.

Oh no, He is guilty of being a puppet, sadist, a torturer, a destroyer of the constitution, a liar, a thief, war monger, a war profiteer, not having any compassion, not having a conscience, a manipulator, an enabler, of treason, etc., etc., et. And to top it off he is a closet queen.

Don't get me wrong I am not a "W" fan. The point I wanted to make is that to have a fool in a powerful office is not wise. He is guilty yes - but others the ones with the brains are more dangerous than George. The sad thisg is that he was reelected - go figure!!!

Pigmy6372 - I totally agree. (All caps might be easy but it's hard to read and looks like you're screaming - but maybe you are).

As the picante commercial used to say, "Get a rope."

I have often heard rumblings of "Impeach Bush" and "Arrest Bush" but it never actually happens. Who can plainly explain to me, why not? I'd be grateful for the info.

So much dishonesty and disregard for the world!
-
Bush has a mandate! We all knew he was a baby killer, when 60,000,000 people voted for him instead of a war hero, while we were at war.
We just need to stop letting Spaced Repetition help us decide who to vote for in elections. -
LMAO, when rabid liberals attack.

What does Cathy Lanier have to say about this?
-
Don't stop at arresting this rascal. And, remember, extraordinary rendition is better than Dumya and cohorts all deserve for the 935 lies they told to bring us to this horrific end. Start with Cheney, the satanic brain of this outfit. Lanier should come after the PNAC signatories.

As much as I agree that Bush should be arrested and chardged, it is just a complete pipe dream. It is never going to happen. Unless the world leaders hold him responsible, like what happen at the Nurenberg trials, the whole notion of Bush going to jail is hopeless.

Impeach his whole gansta entourage. You don't have to just impeach the President.
-
"As much as I agree that Bush should be arrested and chardged, it is just a complete pipe dream." No, we need to start holding the feet of our elected representitives to the fire to get this done. We've wasted time flogging every peice of glittered up political fluff but those matters that affect our lives the most. We've Danced with the Stars, celebrated talented Idols, and sat by while Matthew Modine shared that his racist upbringing, never once demanding that the forth estate inform us and that our leaders represent our interests. Meanwhile, our legislature is up for sale to the highest bidder. This is our government. Our elected representatives now go from being butt-sore career politicians to lobby on K Street, where they can afford all the ammenities we die at home without. This is our country. We ARE the government in this democratic republic. It is high time we demand more from these idiots elected by us to represent our best interests. We need to be demanding our elected public SERVANTS fulfill all the promises they made to get elected, starting with checking ALL the actions of the executive branch of our government the way the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence mandate!

liberal_extinction, you took the words from my mouth but put it tactfully instead haha
-
YES, YES, YES
What are our senators and congrespeople waiting for?
Speaker Nancy Pelosi, are you listening? -
Well Diode, I've noticed that liberals on this site can scream and go absolute batshit crazy saying everything under the sun about the President and conservatives but if you step out of line and mutter anything remotely insensitive to their plight it gets deleted or edited. It's free left wing speech here, you have to tone it down a bit for their delicate sensitivities. Anyway, you may continue the verbal anti American diarrhea now fruitcakes.

Hi Liberal_E, do you mind if I ask why you are on this site? I'm not trying to boot you off or anything, but did you know that Al Gore started Current TV? It's thanks to him that this site exists.

Indict, Impeach, Imprison.
For war crimes against the U.S. and the world.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Condeleeza Ricec, and Alberto Gonzales to start.
If the U.S. doesn't impeach G.W.Bush,
the message is sent to the world that
Americans support this imperialistic crime gang
wreaking havoc on the earth and its people.
Hope, by now, voters can see that there really is a difference between the Democrats and Republicans.
Hundreds of thousands, and more, dead in Iraq, over 1.5 million more families in poverty, millions of lost homes, more mercury and arsenic in our air, water and earth, increased greenhouse gases from war and destruction in Iraq.
This is just part of the damage G.W. Bush and the neo-con Republicans have wreaked in just 7 1/2 years. We can't even give them another 6 months, let along another 4 years with McCain.
How many more people will have to die before Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader do the will of the people?
. -
Well, they could all be exiled to Iraq, and may-be even hung in the same spot as that hussein guy... right? I don't agree that most of the people on this site are anti-American... quite the opposite... Many of us are just sick that we can't seem to elect true leaders for the people... They mostly fall short into a bed of corruption. America has serious problems... we are just venting, sharing, and trying to come up with solutions Liberal. You are welcome as are we each to express your views here.
-
Hey, if this site was created by AL Gore, shouldn't you people be out searching for manbearpig?

May-be we can get them all through human rights violations

Oh Liberal, try to be civil...hahahee -
Or to steal a Phrase from digtrash; Why don't we just discuss all this with them on a lil hunting trip?"
-
Dubya needs to be tried as a war criminal for the death and destruction he's done to Iraq, and the USA. For once in his pathetic life, he needs to be held accountable for what he's done. I can name many, many things he has done that warrants Impeachment. But Congress is made up of a bunch of Corporate Cowards who will never stand up to him.
Someone needs to. Maybe a foreign court will try Bush & Cheney for their crimes against humanity.-

I don't recall advocating murdering liberals, I just wouldn't shed a tear for you if you suddenly dropped dead. Are those of you that are American free to voice your opinions, sure you are and I as much defended your right to say what you want as I did mine when I served in the military. You're free to say whatever you want to but it sickens me to watch sites like this tear into eveything about this country. If only you idiots would have as much disdain for our enemies as you do for your fellow Americans we'd be in a hell of a lot better shape and the islamo-fascists wouldn't be winning the PR campaign with your assistance.

I think your twisting things around abit my fellow american. I too served in the military during our persian gulf crap back in 1980, I was an FT USN , button pusher for balistic and guided war heads , so dont tell me about serving,I am tearing into coruption in our government . i know your not blind, and besides my kids freinds are all there , every boy in the neighbor hood, my nephew , my niece all in iraq or in afghanistan,i watched my town cry when our boys came from nam, i was a young kid and didnt understand but now i do because i have been there,we pay insurgents to stay home, every week like the unemployment office ... what happens when we stop paying them or will we ever stop. Look at the history of involvement we have in other countrys that we as americans cannot afford to keep paying for, common!!!!!!!

Some people are just straight up nasty. Instead of chewing everybodys head off and calling them idiots because they have a different view than your own, why don't you try putting down your p.o.v. without riding in on your high horse and stomping on everyone? I don't watch Fox news and berate them with hate mail. If you're gonna come on this site with something to say, then say it, without the insults. We can't hear you above the hate.
-
I totally agree. I don't think this call for impeachment makes any sense either. A case can be made that they screwed us up big time, but how soon do we forget that a good chunk of the country couldn't tell the difference or even cared there was a difference between Iraq and Iran at the beginning of this war. We wanted blood from wherever we could get it, and it's not until we stopped huffing and puffing that we realized that we were beating up on the wrong guys...and screwing ourselves in the process. I think history will hold Busheny accountable for the mess our country has become. Believe me, to be considered one of the worst leaders of all time is going to be a very strong punishment.
