We suggest you read the Photo Childhood Fears - visualization of childhood nightmares and fears in the execution of a conceptual photographer (Joshua Hoffine).Photographer from Kansas assures that his work is not "photoshop" collages. According to Joshua,

this stuff is wicked awesome. its like something gregory crewdson would do. i am sure that this is the epitome of all our childhood fears. Personally i was always afraid of clowns and creepy old basements. now, not so much. since having i've conquered my childhood fears i find myself seeking more thrills; at times teasing my imminent mortaility
i can't help but think that upon viewing these works we are overtaken by a wave of nostalgia. longing for a time when we were still so easily impressed and our imaginations always seemed to get the best of us. a time when we were certain theres more than meets the eye. an instinctual faith and natural belief in the unknown and what we cannot see. after all just because we cant see it doesn't mean that it is not still there. -
One of my favorites.
Indeed, people do not give the raw power of a child's imagination nearly enough credit.
I remember many of my childhood waking nightmares, and most of these images are spot on. -
I'll be thinking of those monsters when I'm alone. They have been awakened. Dun dun dun...
