Hillary Clinton leads Barack Obama in the popular vote, and this is her path to victory.
She will ultimately win the Democratic nomination by convincing the superdelegates that her popular vote lead makes it legitimate for them to support her. It gives them the cover they need to deny Obama a nomination that he otherwise would have won.
What’s wrong with this picture?
First, Clinton does not lead Obama in the popular vote. It is a fantasy.
Second, the people she most needs to convince that this fantasy is true are the people least likely to believe it.
Let’s first deal with Clinton’s fantasy lead in the popular vote.
“I’m very proud that as of today, I have received more votes by the people who have voted than anyone else,” Clinton said the day after her victory in the April 22 Pennsylvania primary.
She needs to drop out of the race....or else continue to mess up the party's chances for 08. I remember at some point she said that having a Dem President in 08 whether her or not was the most important thing. I don't think she believes that.

Early elections, that's what I say.
Dump HIllary and let's get on with the elections - early. We don't need to wait for November. And, let's be very very careful about another round of election fraud perpetrated by the Ripusofficans.

I love Hillary! She's the only one standing up to have Michigan and Florida primary votes count. Why? Because without them counting the results will always be controversial. No one in the Democratic National Party thought it would matter and that the primary would be so close. But now that it is, it seems to me the only way to have a meaningful election is to count votes. I like Obama, but on this one, if he wants my vote in November - he really should get to Michigan and be bold enough to re-do primary elections there... I mean, isn't that what democracy is all about - votes that count?
