    How bad do I want to hear it? I'm a big fan of Tom Waits so I'm down to give the rest of Scarlet’s album a listen. This pod introduced me to Shim and they definitely sound like my cup of tea, so thank you for that!

    Also, can't wait for the new one from Aimee Mann, a sometime actress.
    Then there's Norah Jones who's basically doing just the opposite by staring in a film.

  • Zooey trumps SJ... I say that mostly because you actually hear Zooey sing. I watched SJ's video and I could barely make out her voice or sound or style. I mean it's clear what Zooey's style and sound is in her songs, so I vote Zooey for Double Threat!

  • I admit that Scarlett has a terrible video that seems unnecessarily flashy and cutty. Yet, I have to say - I like the song.

    I feel like, 1.) we are judging her as a musician before we've heard more than one song, and 2.) we are comparing apples and oranges in this discussion. They're both good artists with two completely different sounds. Can't wait to hear more from each.

  • No...they wouldn't be in that position, Douglas! Celebrity gets you a lot of stuff...like record deals. I'm not hating or anything, but being an actress makes it easier. They have to prove themselves, but at least they can pay producers if they had to. I like Zooey's stuff more!

  • Just because they made it big as actors doesn't mean they didn't want to be singers all along. Zooey has been singing since High School, maybe she always wanted to get a record deal but had to 'settle' for being an actress until she could break through as a singer. I've heard of singers doing the opposite, Vanessa Williams anyone?

  • First off "SHIM" and "Scarjo" are not clever names. We get it, Bennifer was hilarious back in the day. LET THE NAME COMBOS DIE!!!

    Second: Doug, you're a fuckin douche bag. You're not funny, you're not enjoyable to watch, and really, whats with the hair? Did you just take your bike helmet off 10 seconds before you filmed that news story or are you just another waste of space hipster?

    Third: What ever happened to actors and actresses just acting? Zooey has no personality so she shouldn't be doing either and Scarlett STOP TELLING ME HOW TO FUCKIN VOTE AND GO MAKE A GODDAMN MOVIE!!! also, stop ruining other peoples songs just because you weren't clever enough to come up with a hit of your own.
