"Julio Franco finally called it quits.
The 49-year-old announced his retirement from baseball after a 23-year career in the major leagues and stints in his native Dominican Republic, South Korea, Japan and Mexico. In 2007, he became the oldest player to hit a home run in the majors."
Say it ain't so, Julio! Not only was he the oldest player to hit a HR in the majors, he also posessed perhaps the finest batting stance in baseball history. Hold your bat ridiculously high behind your head today in honor of the great Julio Franco...

Noooooooo! I really hope the Indians resign him for a day after he turns 50 so he can pinch hit and become the oldest dude to hit a jack.
