Obama wins Guam caucuses

Barack Obama defeated Hillary Rodham Clinton by seven votes in the Guam Democratic presidential caucuses Saturday. The count of more than 4,500 ballots took all night.

Neither candidate campaigned in the U.S. island territory in person, but both did long-distance media interviews and bought campaign ads for the caucuses.

  • I thought Guam was Clinton country.

    Thankfully it's not.

  • Good.
  • Awesome!!!

I too thought about Hillary early on, but she sort of clinched it for me with the dirty tactics, and Obama differentiated himself in a positive manner.

I'll add, that Bill Clinton's Presidency had some very positive things about it - and in no way did he deserve to be impeached.

I suspect the dogs of war went after him like ravenous pigs because he was going to pay down the federal debt - a big No No. It's likely JFK was murdered in part or entirely because he issued Silver Certificates for currency cutting the Federal Reserve out of the loop.

Those pigs didn't want to loose control of the money or the people it bought.

  • Voyager, Why do you have to bring truth into this. I hate thinking about stuff like that. %D
  • Oh great. More delegates he has no chance at in November (literally). We're nominating the worst candidate since Dukakis, but at least we're not racists!

  • Voting for him has noyhing to do with the color of his skin. He is going to get the nomination and he is going to win the election.

  • can the actual people of guam vote or is it just the puppets that are voting for them? oh and, Goooo O-guama!!
  • Well considering so many want to throw Clinton out.... They wouldn't be celebrating this if she had obliged them all. And by only seven votes... who counts the votes in Guam?
    JanforGore
  • Only 7 votes is still a win - resulting in them splitting the delegates down the middle so there's nothing to complain about here for supporters of either candidate.

    Obama 08!

  • The point was that all of the hypocrites stating she should get out wouldn't be 'celebrating' this 'win' if she had. So much for the whining about that then I suppose as long as he "wins." I mean, didn't this caucus hurt the party?
    JanforGore
  • I guess you would have to first "assume" that all people with the opinion that Hillary should get out are in fact "hypocrites". Then you'd have to assume this hurts the party somehow in order to answer that question.

  • Why the hell is there a caucus in Guam? They can't vote in our general election? It seems to me like that was a waste of time.

  • I guess we don't have any "Operation Chaos" operatives in Guam.

What a minute, why are they voting? How do you vote and not play any taxes? Or do they pay taxes?

  • As Hillary and her peeps have put it, a win is a win and everyone she doesn't win just pushes her further down the street as she's already been shown out the door.

  • Guam is an unincorporated territory of the United States. It has a non voting member in the house of representatives. They have a straw poll for the president of the United States, but do not have electoral college representatives.

The only voice they have over the Federal Government that rules them is the caucus. I say let them have it.

  • Yeah looks like OBAMA won Guam by 7 votes. Kinda interesting.

  • With "help of the mighty Bill"???

Sure he helped her a lot.

Now I understand why Gore didn't want "his help" in 2000.

    JohnA,

If Obama cannot win HIllary can't win either.
If Hillary can win Obama can win , too.

Because it's not about Obama or Hillary it's about the mood of the country and the economy. And since we are in a recession no way the incumbent party can retain the White House.

Never happened before and won't happen this time around, either.

Dukakis lost because the economy was not bad in 1988. People care about Willie Horton and tanks only if they don't have a better thing to worry about.
When the economy sucks that's not the case.
