Howard Dean - Fox news is "shockingly biased"

Image...
Howard Dean pulled no punches in telling Fox what he thought about their coverage, calling it "shockingly biased" at one point in the interview.

DEAN: What I'd say is this: we stayed off Fox for a long time because your news department is, in fact, biased...I think it was the right thing to do, because there are some things in the news department that have really been shockingly biased and I think that's wrong and I just say so right up front.

Is the guy right or will his comments cause the democrats further damage? Check the link for the full video.

More than shockingly biased. Though bias is now certianly widespread with clarity in such events as the abysmal ABC debate last month with Clintons former communications director as a moderator. The same holds true at Fox. The fact that a Bush press secretary was a comentator for the network and that his chief of staff karl Rove has a place at the network, and that president bush has a cousin in the news department, or that Roger Ailes is a republican operative, those are objective facts and the truth is neither fair or balanced in this matter Fox news is a right wing news network. Or at least is right leaning in its coverage.

Fox news, cnn: all of them are bias in some way. Fox is the only one that has a conservative bias. But they are starting to change or so i think one moment they [Fox] were talking good about mrs. Clinton, but then on other shows they went back to their old ways. Fox make up your mind!!!!!

Thank you, Howard Dean. They are more than biased, they are criminal conspirators to me. Too bad Clinton and Obama don't think so.

He's right, but they aren't the only ones. MSNBC is so far up Obama's but my TV smells after it's been on.

That was a preview of noise politics. Imagine if he'd had a preacher or had ever visited Bosnia. I do like the man, the idea of a fifty state strategy was heartening. My home state has had its first campaign visits in almost a decade this year, and if Dr. Dean hadn't laid that groundwork to make every state competitive I don't think we would be seeing the historic election that we are this year. Not just for democrats either, opening up dialogue in states where democrats generaly do poorly has lead to republicans having to speak out more and not take thier positions for granted. I think thats powerful and important, that everyone feel as though they have a say, that nothin is set in stone.

Doesn't everyone know that Fox is really just an Americanized spelling of Faux? Come on everyone, we all know Faux News is purely for entertainment purposes.

Fox news is Infotainment. And watching Fox News is a complete waste of time unless you are conservative and looking only for what you want to hear.

But to play devil's advocate...Don't you get a different spin on every story from every cable news source?

Bottom line: Cable News is convenient but it does not make US citizens free and self-governing...the central idea behind Journalism.

Keep in mind, Dean was also defending the two candidates going on the network. He said, as many have on this site, that it is important to reach out to the disillusioned voters who still watch that channel. He's right on both counts.

Yes, Howard Dean and Fox News are biased against Hiillary Clinton...OR THEY WOULD NOT HAVE ALLOWED HER AND THE PEOPLE OF MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA VOTERS TO HAVE NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN THEIR DECISION/VOTE ON THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY'S. THE DISENFRANCHISEMENT OF THIS CAMPAIGN IS A DISGRACE UPON US ALL. IT IS DISGUSTING HOW FIXED IT AND THOSE WHO PREVENT A RE-VOTE ARE.

Every news source I have seen out there has an agenda of some sort. At least, at Fox, debate is presented between BOTH sides. If Dean is saying that only Fox is biased he is wrong. Of course, I never thought he had a real grasp of reality anyhow.

Crazy! Although I do believe FOX news is biased, I believe all news networks are biased and in reality if you think about it, every person can be biased.

  •

FOX Noise is only biased towards white, protestant land owners and big-titted, small-brained blondes, with years of experience on the pageant circuit...

IMHO, those would be the exact same biases our federal government and television watching audiences have as well.

What you want, is what you get.

Why do you think GM still sells Suburbans?

Although most media outlets have some degree of bias, FOX News has a history of being obnoxiously conservative and overly sympathetic towards the Republican party. Just look at the founder Rupert Murdoch, he was practically obsessed with Ronald Regan and made massive donations to his campaign. The CEO of FOX News, Roger Ailes, was the head media consultant for the campaigns of Regan and George H. W. Bush.
