Parenting never looked so bad. How this happens is beyond me, but you'd think that once you'd brought children into the world, you might consider remaining sober enough to look after them.

Maybe it's just me ... meh.

  • It's a good example of how binge drinking has become pandemic in the UK. It seems that society has given the greenlight to drinking huge quantities of booze until the inevitable pass-out occurs.

    With such time and money spent on chasing down illegal substances, isn't it time we took a long hard look at the legal ones?

  • well i think if i had more than 2 kids i would be drunk half the time, but then again i wouldn't drink if it caused me to lose track of the children. as it happens i've drank and looked after children plenty of times, sometimes infront of their parents. i think its a simple lack of common sense and maturity, and child abuse rather than alcohol abuse.

    Phillyharper, that is the most logical thing I have ever heard someone say. Too bad it will fall on deaf ears .

  • Legislation forbidding alcohol wont stop this....... Some people are just bad parents. We are raised as children drinking is only for getting drunk. Yet many other societies let their children have wine with dinner, or a casual beer as a teenager. Amazingly they have a smaller issue with alcoholism and alcohol related problems. Lets teach our children about responsability rather than making a demon out of alcohol.
