State media inside Burma has said that nearly 4000 people have died following the devastation caused by a cyclone sweeping through the country. It says 3,969 people have been killed and almost 3,000 more are missing, but earlier on Monday state media said the death toll stood at just 351.
The United Nations are applying pressure on Burma to allow foreign aid to enter the country in light of the hundreds of thousands of people who now need shelter following the cyclone. Winds of up to 120mph rocked the nation when Cyclone Nagris hit Burma on Saturday.

Such a tragedy. I can only hope the UN and international aid organizations reach these villages right away. Without immediate help, the death toll will only climb.

They refused American aid? I certainly hope they can suppress they're egos long enough to get these people much needed help.

Yet another natural disaster taking the lives and homes of thousands. Can you believe there are people out there who still don't believe that global warming is real?
